What Does Equipment Decommissions Involve?

First, it’s necessary to carry out a site inspection to make a list of all obsolete equipment that will be decommissioned. At this point, we’ll also need a detailed breakdown of where the old equipment should go. We could put it into storage, dispose of it, or wipe it clean to be sold or recycled. You can do this in-house, or ask Capital to do it. This allows us to understand the scope of the job.
All IT equipment should be offline prior to the decommissioning date, and any data transferred to a secure server. Then we’ll visit the site and carry out the removal of old equipment.
Once all equipment is removed, we will follow the process to reuse or recycle it, or place it into storage and send a detailed report so you’ll know exactly what happened to the obsolete equipment.
