With the restrictions of COVID slowly beginning to lessen, companies are now allowing workers back into offices all around the world. Here in the UK however, and without a doubt in a multitude of other countries, a new Hybrid way of working is beginning to strike popularity. While this new flexible arrangement for numerous businesses has allowed many the choice of either working from home or coming back into the office environment, it has also changed the way in which companies need to manage their workforce and of course, their IT estate.
Capital hasn’t been left untouched however as we’ve now had to change our way of thinking to ensure we’re providing the very best service possible to our clients. One great example of this is that we now offer the ability to split our site visits to a client, to ensure we capture more staff who visit on specific days throughout the week and/or month. As opposed to sending in a team of four on one day alone, we now send in one team member across 4 different days throughout the month; these days usually fall on Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays. For the client we’re discussing below however, we worked within their schedule and attended on Mondays too.
Laptop Cleaning For A Hybrid Workforce
Our client approached us to provide a laptop cleaning service for their entire workforce. Due to hybrid working however, we split our usual one day visit into 4 days across the month. We notified the client in question of the pending dates and before our subsequent visits, we shared a web form for them to distribute across their workforce. We required this to be completed before our arrival. This allowed us to gather information such as what desk each member of staff sat at, as well as the days and times they were physically in the office throughout each month.
With this information, we were then able to ensure we captured everyone of those who came into the office for the service to be completed, as well as anyone else who may have been in on the day.
This method, whereby we spread our visits out over time throughout the month, proved to be a huge success for this client as we were able to capture a much larger percentage of the client’s mobile workforce too, cleaning their equipment before allowing them to return to their remote working lifestyle.
